Location is everything, and Toronto’s Garden District community has plenty to offer everyone; stretching from Carlton Street to the north, Yonge Street to the west, Sherbourne Street to the east and Queen Street to the south. Shopping & Retail
From one-off boutiques to massive shopping complexes, the Garden District is just a few blocks away from whatever your taste or desire. Take a stroll to the Eaton Centre, or continue exploring Toronto’s massive PATH underground network, with its roughly 30 kilometres of walkways, 1,200 shops and services and links to major attractions. The bustling Yonge street corridor with its unique boutiques, tourist shops, cafes and abundant shopping options is a few short blocks over. Shopping complexes at Yonge-Dundas square offers an array of retail options. There’s no shortage of choice here.
Parks & Recreation
The Garden District earns its name from the beautiful Allen Gardens, with its botanical gardens and glass-domed conservatory it’s no wonder why many newlyweds stop here to take photos. Two fenced parks for large & small dogs, shade trees, colourful dog sculptures and a splash pad make this a truly family-friendly environment. But it’s not the only green space in the area. Arena Gardens is a small park nearby, featuring an ornamental fountain and children’s playground. Ryerson Community Park is a small campus green space with an ice rink from November to February and some park benches for a break. Moss Park sits at Queen St E & Gerrard, offering over 3 hectares of park area featuring a lit ball diamond, two tennis courts, a basketball court, a children’s playground, and a wading pool. And if the building gym and fitness centre isn’t enough, a Toronto Central YMCA is also close by.
Learning & Education
Ryerson University’s downtown campus is 200 metres away from JAC Condos immediately. In less than 10 minutes, residents can walk to George Brown College campus. A 30-minute walk connects you to University of Toronto. For youngsters, public schools include Jarvis Collegiate Institute, Gabrielle-Roy Elementary, and the Bond Street Nursery School.
Public Transit & Highways
The area is well served by TTC public transit, with Carlton and College streetcar routes. College Subway Station is a few steps away connecting residents to the Yonge-University-Spadina subway Line. Union Station is a 4 stops on a subway ride away from College Station, offering regional connections with GO Transit, VIA Rail and the UP Express. 2 stops north to Bloor-Yonge station where you can seamlessly transfer onto the Bloor-Danforth Line. Toronto Pearson International Airport is just a 25-minute UP Express ride away. For drivers, JAC condos is a short drive to the Gardiner Expressway, Don Valley Parkway and the 401, allowing convenient travel and seamless connections to the surrounding Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
